Clan

The prompt for this week was “Clan” and it really challenged me. I have a complex relationship with my family and I have very few friends. But that’s what writing is about, right? Exploring not only what you know, but expanding your imagination.

 

 

These are her people.

The creative souls, the free spirits, the intellectuals. The artists who would rather starve their bodies than starve their appetite for creation. The teachers who perceived life as a multitude of systems for mankind to learn to understand.

She had always been pulled to these people who used their minds to give life to ideas. For the most part, they were the type to use their words to nourish others, rather than choke them like so many weeds.

With these people, she was content.

A community built on the principle of life everlasting in the abstract.
